Garage conversion vs Garden office shed-which will have the least detrimental impact on buyers?

Ideally you should be doing what makes. You most comfortable and productive in your own job and not worry about future purchasers. However I think it is best to have a garage and an office shed than just an office in a garage. We would much prefer a garage than office space.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

allygate said:Thanks all for your comments, they were very helpful. In the end, we've decided to go for a very basic windowless garage conversion (wholly internal, about 3/4ths of the garage) because the builder said we can use the new green homes grant for the garage floor & wall insulation and then also get a supplementary voucher for the same amount (we plan to use it for installing new zonal heating controls), so it was pretty much a no brainer as the cost of doing this works out to just about 20% of what we had budgeted for. Very pleasant surprise.

Very pleasant surprise. It has a room above it, so unfortunately a velux window isn't an optionOur plan is to do this now since it's so cheap and if a windowless office is completely unbearable then put in a clear window, or a stained glass window if planning doesn't permit a clear one. Right now we get a 100% grant because I've just started a new business and there's minimal income so might as well make maximum use of this short window of opportunity.1

My personal choice, I would like the garage for storage and a garden room for an office, studio, sitting room...
This is what I'm actually looking at currently.0
