Neighbours built large brick building, is it legal? Will it affect my sale?

My neighbours have built a large brick building next to our fence. Their property is at least 18” lower than ours and the building is nearly 3ft above our 6ft fence. Is this legal now planning rules have been changed and will it affect our property price when we sell?

I think it's a covered veranda - was there a roof there before ? Hardly a large building.
It may help if you sell -Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
I know know 🙄 the photo wouldn’t load the right way around. It has a roof now. I thought buildings had to be at least 1mtr away from boundaries.0

If that veranda has something nice growing on it when you come to sell, I'm sure it will help the sale! My next door neighbours have a rambling rose which grows through my trellis, and it's absolutely lovely.

Any building built less than 1 metre from a boundary is limited to an eaves height of 2.5 metres. If it exceeds that, then it won't be allowed under permitted development.Time to get your tape measure out. If it exceeds 2.5 metres, check your local planning website and see if there was a planning application. If not, inform the planners and let them take any enforcement action.0

This is the view from my garden. Our fence is 6ft tall and the neighbours property is at least 18” lower than ours. I’ve looked at planning and I’d need permission to put a higher fence in and trellis won’t hide it. There is another new building incorporated at the back of this building. I’d just like to know how best to mask it and is it legal please. I’d be grateful for any advice.

I'd guess that's within Permitted Development rights, unless you're in a Conservation Area and the Council has an "Article 4 Direction" limitation on these (I live in a CA and the Council hasn't bothered with these limitations)
As regards impact on your house, future sales or values, it wouldn't bother me; so I guess the Q to ask yourself is "if (once finished) it had been there when we were house hunting, would it have put us off buying...?"
And I bet the reply would be "No"?
