PayPal £10 offer

I have an active PayPal account which I use regularly. I also have an old account that I haven't used in a while. My OH has an account he doesn't use. We both received emails offering £10 if we activate an offer and purchase something before the 30th. We tried with both links and it says we are not eligible. I contacted PayPal who claim that its spam and they never sent the offer. I have seen on other forums that this offer has been sent to a lot of people. Has anyone on here had this email. Has it worked. Or is PayPal being a bit misleading

What do you mean "has it worked?" It's a scam. Why do you think PP lied to you?0

OP did you check who the email was from ?

Had one for my old long unused account and successfully used it.

Because there is a discussion on hotdeals and some people say the link worked for them and others said it didn't. It appears that molerat had success . I don't think PayPal has lied as such but normally I wouldn't trust it. Seems strange that we both get the offer to a lapsed PayPal account. Same email, and more than once.Spank said:What do you mean "has it worked?" It's a scam. Why do you think PP lied to you?0 -
I do hope that you have changed your Paypal log in details since clicking on the links.paul2louise said:We tried with both links and it says we are not eligible. I contacted PayPal who claim that its spam
They may well not be phishing attempts but then again they may be and you might have given out your Paypal passwords.1 -
Yes passwords updated I know it's good to change them every so often so this was a good excuseGeorge_Michael said:I do hope that you have changed your Paypal log in details since clicking on the links.paul2louise said:We tried with both links and it says we are not eligible. This is the message they sent me. So my old account is not eligible. But my working account I didn't get the email so that isn't eligible either. Never mind.
So not sure who is eligible

Probably people with old accounts that do not have another currently active account.
I created an account years ago and have received the £10 offer on that also, slight problem is that its a
made up name with no linked bank details. Not lost and not gained and the world keeps spinning.
