I always use this "Overseas holiday and travel..." forum when planning trips to the Isle of Wight...  isn't the Solent sea?  And despite ma braw name, ah huvn'ae a clue aboot Inverness, so ah cannae gie ye any tips

Well, for quite a bit of its history, the IOW was considered a dangerously foreign-influenced place, which was best kept at arms length from the rest of England, so it just about qualifies - or maybe those days are back again?
