Redundancy and Pay

I was made redundant recently, I have under 2 yrs service and have been furloughed for 6 months. My contract of employment states I am only entitled to a 7 day notice period BUT my Director in writing on 3 separate emails stated that as a gesture of goodwill they have decided to pay me 30 days notice plus my annual leave accrual (14 days)
They have now sent me the calculation and have only paid me for 7 days notice, ignoring their original intentions.

Can they do this?

Have you asked them if the apparent underpayment was a mistake? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
