COnverting Works to Excel????

My dad has just sent me a copy of a statement that's on Works Database - .wbd extension, but I only have Excel ad it won't let me open it??

Is there anyway I can convert it so I can read it????

    Bear in mind that you're trying to open a database with a spreadsheet program.

    Your best bet would be to try and get him to save it as an .xls file (which I *think* you can do in MS Works).

  • There is a pay for program, but if he sent it to you by email, ask him to do the following:

    Get him to open the Dbase and then save it as a Dbase file ie .dbf, by Clicking Save As and choosing As File Type Dbase (*.dbf)

    and then get him to send it back to you

    Excel is capable of reading dbf files
  • Alternatively you can download a copy of Open Office, it will "open" and "save as" almost any file type!
