MOT fail? Crack on back of Mirror unit

Car coming up for MOT soon. The back of the passenger side mirror unit has a crack in it, almost a hole about the size of a 50p. The glass is fine and I can still adjust it from the internal.... thingy. But will it fail it's MOT? I know 2nd hand units can be picked up cheap but I won't have the cash for that before the MOT.
Thanks in advance.

The front side of the actual external housing? No, Mr MOT won't care at all unless there's sharp edges that could hurt a pedestrian if you ran them over.

Maybe put a bit of tape over the hole...
