Student loan repayment

Options
Hi

I'll start by apologizing if this is in the wrong forum. My wife who is 7 months pregnant has recently been made redundant and received her last month's wage in full and the full statutory maternity pay in one lump sum from her employer. This lump sum has triggered a payment for more than 600 pounds towards her student loan even though her total earnings for the tax year will be around 12000 for the tax year. Is there anyway way we can get this money back as she won't be above the threshold in earnings to make loan repayments? Obviously with only 1 income and our first child on the way every penny counts.
