You can have your toaster under your bed if you really want. You just don’t have rights when it sets the bed on fire  

Alternatively keep an eye on your appliances!

That toaster is carp!  Is it turned down to minus eleven or something?

Also, who has a kitchen towel dispenser directly above and in contact with an electrical socket?

(Mind you, in one of my university halls of residence, I was always amused by the abandon with which many students attacked the toasters with metal knives to get their burnt offerings out).
