We have purchased a small bungalow on electric only, would modern oil filled electric radiators for heat and an electric combi boiler for hot water water be the way to go, or is the something more efficient, Thanks

Forgot to mention there isn't an installed wet system, it's a mix of electric and storage heating.0

If gas isn't available - storage heaters are a good way to go with a conventional immersion heater. Avoid oil filled rads and the "storage" heaters filled with magic dust as both use on peak electricity. Heat pumps are also an option.
If you are used to a house then you will find a bungalow more expensive to heat.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
As Robin says, the cheapest way to heat the place on leccy is with storage heaters and an immersion heater on an off-peak tariff unless you want to fork out for a heatpump. Oil or even LPG are cheaper tp run than trying to heat with full price leccy but they require the installation of a wet system with a storage tank.
Don't be tempted or persuaded to install any of these amazing efficient heaters from, Fischer, Rointe or others filled with magic dust, fairy oil or other exotic materials.Look at the threads on Fischer heaters (here is just one of them

Bungalows are more expensive to heat as they've got a bigger roof area for the heat to escape so spend some of your money by improving the insulation in the loft and wall cavities.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
