Switching suppliers with contracts ending on 2 different dates
Options
Hi, sorry this has no probably been answered before, but I have no idea what to do and Google ain't helping.. I have 2 different energy suppliers (eon & BG) their contracts end 6 months apart (eon in November) and I really want to switch, been having nothing but issues with Eon for the last 12 months.. I am in credit with both, (quite heavily with eon, this being part of the problem, on top of poor customer service... they used to be great... what happened?), but don't know the best way of going about it. Should I go out of contract with eon and wait to BG catches up to switch, or do separately? (Only has gas installed 18 months ago, hence 2 different contract dates) Thank you in advance for any advise!!!

Stay with separate contracts if they are cheaper. Just factor in any exit fees to see whether it's worthwhile.1

Depending on when your contract ends in November you may be in or not far off the exit window for that anyway, just pick another electricity supplier.Note that you will roll over on EDF to a default standard tariff, aka "ridiculously expensive", so no point waiting six months for BG to "catch up" during the colder pars of the year, you might as well just pour money down the drain.1
