Fish tank on kitchen worktop?

I’m planning to buy a small fish tank, around 12 litres. It’s glass so I imagine with the water, it will be very heavy. Will my kitchen worktop be able to cope with that weight long-term? The whole kitchen was installed last November by the council but it feels a bit ‘rickety’. I’ve stood on the worktop a few times (briefly) to clean the top cupboards. I weigh almost 8st and it didn't fall apart but there was some creaking which worried me. The last thing I want is a flood and a dead fish.

It will weigh around 12kg, you weigh around 50kg. The weight of the tank will be spread across the base and won't be moving around like you did.
Obviously, I haven't seen the state of your units, but I would have thought it would easily take the weight of the tank long term without a problem.1 -
A worktop that has cupboards underneath can easily take 14kg (water + tank)
14kg is not very heavy at all , I regularly stand on my units with no I'll effects at all and I weigh circa 100kg!1 -
It's worth pointing out to others that the much larger tanks one sees are a different kettle of ......err.....well, just don't put those on any unstrengthened surface. The long term effect of any bowing might cause the tank itself to crack.
