This Company emailed me - eventually! - after I had contacted them to request that they remove the auto-renew feature on my car insurance policy to say that they had done so. A few days prior to the renewal date, however, they proceeded to take another annual premium of just over £374 from my credit card! At the time of writing, I am still awaiting their response to several ‘chaser’ emails. I have to register a ‘Section 75’ with my credit card Company. I will be reporting them to the FCA and, if it proves necessary, the Insurance Ombudsman. Appalling disregard for customer service. I will NEVER use them again. From their various auto ‘holding/acknowledgement of receipt’ emails, it looks like they may be a member of the Herz Group, utterly scandalous and disreputable behaviour.

The FCA don't take customer complaints. Perhaps you mean FOS, but you'll be need to exhaust their complaints procedure first.
Was there sufficient time between your auto renewal cancellation and the DD? It may have just been poor timing rather than an error.0
