Conveyancing Solicitor Recommendation, London

Hi guys,

new to the forum here and thought this is the best place to ask for a recommendation. My usual solicitor has retired and the firm she works for is literally loaded with case works due to the stamp duty holiday.  Wonder if any one can recommend a good conveyancing solicitor. I am actually doing an equity transfer of a London flat to my partner along with a mortgage (thanks to the stamp duty holiday) which in theory is low risk but surprisingly fiddly conveyancing work. Been told to get someone experienced as it is a rather non-standard transaction.

Before someone pointing out the existence of a search function - I have actually tried (very hard!) and surprisingly very few names I could actually find. Any recommendation will be good.

thanks guys

Probably cheaper to find a solicitor who isn't in London...
  • I can DM you a couple of options, if that would be helpful?

yep. i am location agnostic - my old lawyer was Gloucestershire based and I had no issue whatsoever in using her for my London flat.

Which part of London? It's several hundred miles square so pointless recommending you one in Hammersmith if you're in Blackheath :) If that's the case, I agree with the above, you might as well find one outside of London.

thank you for asking - i am in Islington but as said above - relatively location agnostic as happy to deal with the lawyer via email/phone. And you are right- doesn't even have to be in London! Thank u
  • Hi-I am also looking for a London solicitor, and I am going with Halifax for my mortgage. On another thread, someone had mentioned that Halifax are picky about the solicitor and would want the solicitor be approved on their panel. So I used their conveyancing tool, and Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP (London) came up with good reviews. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about this? Is RLB a good choice? Many Thanks!
