They to have to produce some gimmick, because they're a building society but their best instant access rate is "0.01% to 0.05%", which is at most half the base rate.

According to the terms you pay a fee of 180 days interest to access the money early. So you could if you really want to go for the £10k just close it after 180 days regardless of whether or not you win. If you win it’s a good return, if not it’s the opportunity cost of wherever else the deposit could have been.1
