I had a holiday booked with love holiday. They e mailed to inform that the holiday has been cancled. Ryan air are refusing to give a refund. Not only is the holiday cancled, but I'm also in an area that is in a local lockdown. So even if I wanted to travel I couldn't as I would be breaking the law. I hav3 explained this to Ryan air but still refusing a refund.

Were the accommodation and the flight booked separately? and if so, are the Ryanair flights still showing as going ahead?
If this is the case then Ryanair are under no obligation to provide a refund as they will still be willing to provide the flights that were booked.
Do you have any travel insurance in place that may cover this?1 -
Yes flights are still going ahead. I thought as I'm in a lock down area I may have stood a slight chance if a refund.0

Even those in a lock down area are allowed to leave home and travel in some circumstances and going on holiday is one of the permitted reasons.nannydee said:Yes flights are still going ahead. I thought as I'm in a lock down area I may have stood a slight chance if a refund.

Yes.
However, you should not go on holiday in England with people you do not live with (or who are not in your support bubble) in a group larger than 6 people. Doing so is against the law. You should ensure you maintain social distancing with anyone you do not live with or is not in your support bubble.

Since the flights are still available, it's an insurance claim if you're covered.1

Yes I have tried the bank for refund and hope the Ombudsman steps in , as I was protecting HIM and his CREW as well as passengers by not flying also my flight was not essential.nannydee said:I had a holiday booked with love holiday.
