Avro / Lowri Beck Smart Meters

Same difference if I still have to go outside with a post-it note and read the meters then submit it online to the supplier.[Deleted User] said:
Suppliers do not connect directly to your smart meters (or more accurately, the communications hub). For SMETS2 meters, the comms hub connects to The Data Communications Company (DCC). Suppliers communicate with The DCC via secure software known as an Adaptor. Information from the Adaptor has to be linked into the supplier’s billing system.MidlandsGlory said:Considering Avro can't even remote read the meter from it, so far my current gain from letting them do it is zero.
I wonder if Avro are required to install smart meters to fulfil regulator requirements, but are not required to integrate them into the billing system and have little intention to do so. Weren't they told they were blocked from taking on any new customers until they started installing smart meters? this is probably the bare minimum they can get away with.0 -
That is exactly the problem. Suppliers were obliged to become members of the DCC and obliged to offer to install/install smart meters but nobody seems to have thought to oblige them to use the readings !!MidlandsGlory said:
