I'm not at all surprised, ntl. Most people, who can offer good advice, will do so freely, whilst those who have most to fear from that advice need to resort to verbal violence to put their point accross.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Oh pot, kettle, black springs to mind.
I still maintain that it would be an abuse of process and again, something which you all seem adept at ignoring is that it would still need to be proved in a court of law.
It's all very well posturing but I will stick with the realities.0 -
Hi Guys,
I think Becca's thread may have been slightly hijacked now? Although, everyone clearly has good intentions of trying to help, perhaps someone may like to start a new thread for a polite debate on the subject of the laws and guidelines relating to phone calls and harassment. I think this IS a valid discussion, but perhaps not best placed where a stresed newbie just wants some help?DFW Nerd # 768 - PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS :cool:0 -
This is pretty simple.
I've posted before and asked that the personal comments ON BOTH SIDES are stopped. If this continues, members will simply have their posting rights removed if they are unable to converse politely. It is ruining threads for others. Remember if you think someone is being abusive, your ONLY course of action is to report it to us and let us take care of it.

my son who is 18 (and at the time a 6th form student with a Saturday job) specifically requested that no funds be available should there be insufficient in his account. All his transactions were electronic, he did not use the cheque book at all. To no avail - the account allowed him to go 0.57p overdrawn at the Halifax and they are now charging him £28 per month. He withdrew all his money but they refuse to close the account until the charges are met. He wrote to them disputing the charge etc etc but they continue to write and phone - calling on Saturday mornings, Sunday lunchtime and in the evening. Very intrusive and almost threatening to receive so many calls. The bank refuse to discuss with us even though it is our telephone line.
My son has now written to the branch again and also the chairman.0 -

Did he make the original request, that no funds be made available if insufficient funds in account, in writing, mollie? If so, did he keep a copy of the letter/e-mail?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
