Stay away from this. The possibilities of fraud are endless. They could accidentally overpay as one of the previous posters suggested... Or could make the payment look like some sort of fee paid to you for whatever dubious activities they are up to. Send them to the crowdfunding site and let them handle the rest. 8% is not a lot for peace of mind and if it turns out to be fraudulent you won't be directly involved.
