custom 6 seater?

hi,

rather than getting something like a galaxy etc ive thought about getting something like a vitara or kia sportage etc and adding a fold up seat in the boot on the side to make it into a 6 seater (like land rovers have etc)

could this happen? would it be legal ?

Your V5 will say how many seats your car has and would have to be updated.

Your car will then be modified and would have to be insured as such, less companies higher prices like people that put bodykits on Saxos etc.

I'd stick with an MPV/mini MPV/Estate/large 4x4 that was designed for carrying the people.

Fiat Multipla for instance seats 6, 3 on the front row 3 on the back.

As long as you have the seats bolted to the floor properly and seat belts are anchored properly you are ok to change the number of seats.Best thing is to take it to the nearest MOT to you and have them check it when its done.Take your V5 with you and they might stamp it to say they have checked it or give you a seperate certificate which you will need to send to DVLA swansea to get your V5 changed legally
