Did he give any indication at all of how an injector fault could cause an engine to seize...?

It definitely SEIZED, didn't hydraulic-lock? That would suggest a lubrication issue, if not a catastrophic internal mechanical failure.
Thanks for the continued help!  He didn't give any more details regarding the possible fuel injector issue but I could ask for this..  I will look to see precisely what my garage specialist's wording was for what he thought had happened to the engine after he carried out his investigation and confirm.

And how long since you checked it before the engine seized?

A few weeks before - less than a month.  When I changed gear it lost all drive, I coasted to a halt and the engine wouldn't restart.  There was a lack of compression is what the garage said.
  • And actually the ACE report said there was a possible fuel injector issue but no more detail.  He said in his view there would have been severe loss of performance and misfires before it happened - but there wasnt!  Which is why he believes it was ultimately caused by drive on damage.
  • Checked my garage report. The engine didn’t actually seize. The fourth cyclinder got damaged and parts of it went through the engine.
