    No that’s certainly not all.
they are concerned that they give probate or letters of administration to the right person and also that any will is valid. They have a forensic department and can check pap and ink and can question signatures.
why can’t you find contact details online?
  • hi there is details online but its just an answering machine, there is no will so the time to perform this,  be longer or shorter ?

    Can’t really comment on newcastle.
for Harlow straightforward cases are being processed very quickly (couple of weeks).
anything non standard is taking longer no doubt due to staff shifts due to pandemic.
if there is no will then that should save time. You aren’t said whether there is tax to pay or a property involved.

HMRC are the ones that are concerned with the value of the estate and any IHT.

You can get on with the house selling process, getting it staged for sale and ready to market.

Remember that once you have the grant you only have 6 Months more of no council tax(if not occupied).

It can be worth considering early marketing to get a sale under way in anticipation of the grant

when was the submission made?  Was it a IHT205 or IHT400?
