Anyone got a refund on their car insurance?

I think the answer is no but worth a shot!
So I pay more for my insurance as I put down my mileage as 25k which is quite high.  Since March my mileage has dropped massively as I am working from home, I am only likely to do around 5k miles for the year.
I know you're supposed to tell your insurer if your mileage goes up, presumably so they can charge you a nice little extra premium, but if the reverse is true, any chance of a refund?
Anyone tried it?
Cheers.

Direct Line actually volunteered a refund, back about May. They asked me what mileage I'd been doing since lockdown, and paid me £10+.
  • Cool, looks like I need to get on the phone, even a tenner is worth it!

Didn't Admiral (not sure, it may have been someone else) offer the refunds and advertise the same in the press, so they treated it as a marketing opportunity?

Bah, I filled in their online form and didn't receive anything
  • I got rock all off the 3 policies I've got, at £218, £224 & £275 maybe they all thought I didn't deserve any refunds,  :D

Yes: Admiral refunded us £25 for one car, which I think they did with all their customers, we didn't have to ask. Our other car is insured with Churchill, we contacted them the other day to say that our mileage was reduced drastically from 25k to about 10k, they refnded us about £20. Worth asking!

I amended the policy with new estimated lower mileage and got a nice refund back.
