Provider offer requests

Can you ask, and realistically get, a 0% offer for a few months from your own provider? We are looking at getting a kitchen, paying if off over 12 months, so 12m interest free would be handy. Obviously if we don't need to apply for a new card to get the interest free then better, otherwise we will just buy it and balance transfer to a new card., and the present card will not be used again, therefore losing the current provider money

You can ask, but you're unlikely to get it. 0% offers are largely acquisition tools.
The current provider won't lose money if you BT to a new card. They'll gain. They will get the merchant fee from the transaction and then save money on not having to provide you with either statement costs or free credit.

Thanks for the quick reply....I think in the back of my mind that was the case0

Does the company you are using accept credit card payments as well?0

Yes, it was more hypothetical in that we want 2k for the bathroom, but why pay 19%Apr on my current card when I can get a new one with 12m free credit effectively. Was wondering if my current provider would agree to my suggestion that they offer me a 0% fod a period. Its moot now anyway, got a 5k offer from m&s bank for 20 months...D3xt3r5L4b said:Does the company you are using accept credit card payments as well?0 -

You wouldn’t be posting here otherwise asking for financial help?DiseasedBunny said:

Not asking for financial help though? Was simply asking if my current provider would agree to low interest rates for a period of time.D3xt3r5L4b said:

Maybe ask them then? What will posting in a public forum achieve?DiseasedBunny said:
