travel cheques which one ??

Can anyone advise what is the best currency to change from cash to travel cheques for use in Thailand, is it best to change to dollars or euro's or even sterling without being charged a fee but get a good rate when changing to Thai baht whilst on holiday ?

US$ most widely accepted, however € and £ are also very widely accepted so it doesn't really matter which one you take over. Remember in Thailand you will be charged an amount for EACH TC you cash in, so try and buy larger ones. The rate for TCs is slightly better than cash, but then there is a TC charge.

Amex TCs are the most widely accepted, however VISA is also very acceptable.

However have a read at this article:

You may find it cheaper taking your credit and/or debit card. Have a look at getting Nationwide cards, they are the best for foreign travel.

If you have Nationwide debit card just put the cash into flexaccount and take a card ...

P.S. even if you don't have NW debit card but have their credit card you can 'preload' credit card and there will be no any charge when using if for purchases and only 1.5% on cash withdrawals.
