No Longer Qualify for Warm Home Discount !?
Options
For as long as I have lived in my flat I have qualified for the yearly Warm Home Discount of £140. My only income is Income Based ESA (Long term) I had a prepayment Meter with a key but liked the idea of a smart meter. Utilita were the only company offering me a smart meter, so I moved to them earlier this year. I now find that after applying for this years Warm Home Discount, I have been informed I am not entitled to it. I have had no change of income or anything and really rely on the discount every year. Can I change back to say EDF, even though they cannot supply my smart meter. Would they be willing to change me back to a key meter. I am really confused and worried and would really appreciate some advice.

Did Utilita say why they aren't giving it to you? Did you apply in the one week in August they were open to applications or miss that?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

The EDF scheme is still open. Call 0800 269 450 and ask them whether you qualify for their Broader Group. Unfortunately you may find that you've missed the boat by the time your switch goes through, it's usually first come first served for the Broader Group.0

Outside the quote reads to me that it wasn't you not qualifying, it was them being stingy and only having a limited number available. So you would need to ask other places not only if you qualify, but if they still have grants available.

Not all suppliers offer the WHD to a broader group, some have their own criteria. I think it’s about time it was abolished anyway.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
