My Sky + box has decided to delete all my recordings and now also refuses to record anything. I get an error message "sky+ playback and recording are unavailable" I have contacted sky 3 times and each time whatever they do does not work. Have I had it now?? If so where is best place to get new box? My years warranty ran out in October and it is about £65 to get engineer out so it may be cheaper to get new box - but where from? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Odd.. doesn't sound like a hard drive issue as I would assume that has a different error?
That specific message came to me in between the engineer installing the box, and the sky guys activationg playback and recording on my card.
You sure the card is inserted properly and hasn't been taken out?
If the cards damaged a new sky box won't fix it... So I guess it depends on price difference.. Tried fleebay?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Make sure that Sky have not stopped your account or anything like that.
Your best bet might be Ebay to pick up a Sky+ box.
I would call Sky and go through to cancellations and tell them your leaving because your box is broke, eventually if you hang in there long enough you should get a free box out of them or a discounted repair.
Good luck with it0 -
Any idea on what we should do if we want to upgrade to HD? They have offered £200++ but I was hoping for better deal than that.chilli_dog wrote: »Make sure that Sky have not stopped your account or anything like that.

You might have to search the forums to see if anyone has got free or cheap HD.
Do you live in a cable area, you could always argue that Virgin are offering free HD, which they are just less channels than Sky.0
