british gas and payg meters
ive recently moved into a flat with payg meters with british gas, was told i had to wait 28 days before i could ask for them to be removed, fine.
today is day 28, got onto virtual chat, only to be told that i failed the credit check with experia! (did my own free check and my score is 966) so its all a con! how do i get rid of these meters? ive got a phone num that i cant phone til tomorrow but i am so livid right now! has anyone else had an experience like this? or do they just love to keep people chained to these meters as much as possible?

Some PAYG meters can be switched to credit mode, and this would happen before your switch. Also, the new company will probably be more friendly than BG. EDF don't do a credit check.0

Just initiate a switch in the normal way? It should go through if you're not in debt.0

And just to check, you made sure you were on the electoral roll at your new address before trying to get a credit meter, didn't you?

The score from a credit reference agency is worthless. No one sees it apart from you. It’s credit history that is looked at.0
