Don’t have bulb smart gas meters installed, they don’t work.

Had my smart gas meter installed a few days ago. I am not seeing readings yet so thought I would ask how long it takes. This is the email I got back! . Why are they installing meters they know are faulty and why are they not installing ones that work. Where do I stand legally since I have been misold something?
“We have tried to resolve this, however we were unable to move forward.
The gas meter cant send us readings on a monthly or daily schedule. This problem is affecting a small number of gas meters for all suppliers and is on top for the smart industry to fix currently.
You will need to send us manual readings until this is resolved.
We are not able to give you a timeframe as this will be resolved by the Networks.
We will be in touch as soon as this has been resolved.”

You haven't paid any more to have your smart meter so you have no legal claim to anything. (Actually, everyone is paying more for the smart meter rollout via higher bills, whether or not they have one, but that's a different issue.)Nor has having a dumb smart meter changed your tariff rates. Nothing has changed, you just need to keep reading the meter as you did before.2
