Prom Dress problem

Hi. I purchased a prom dress from stock, not a special order. Paid for it in full but it has never been taken from the shop as due to the virus proms been cancelled. I have asked for a refund less 25% as per their cancellation policy but I’m not getting a response from the letters I’m sending. I’m just being ignored. Have I got any rights at all with this. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • They probably aren't open.  I would also be surprised if you got your money back (depending on their T&Cs)

There have been a few threads on here about promo dresses.  If I remember just because it was bought for a promo does not mean it has to be used as one?  A special occasion dress going as a guest to a wedding etc.

Well they can't keep your money and the dress, and it looks like they're currently closed.  Have you actually been to the shop to see if they're open or if there's a note in the window giving information?

If/when they do re-open, talk to them. At the very least you have a right to the dress you paid for.  If their policy says you can cancel an uncollected order for a 75% refund then that's what you're entitled to.  The prom not happening is nothing to do with them and does not give you an automatic right to cancel.
