Online Poker Compromised - Absolute Poker - Discussion involved AND WARNING!

Intttttttteresting news I heard today.

Absolute Poker, a popular online poker site has been compromised. The back story is, someone who came 2nd in a $1000 poker tourny was suspicious so asked for hand history for the tourny.

Accidentally, Absolute sent the play a MASTER copy with ALL the players cards from every hand! (which is absolutely crazy and scary on its own!)

The hand history showed that a player literally played 95% of hands, and only folded hands when there was AA, KK, QQ etc behind him. In other words, only when he knew he had a very small chance.

EVERY time someone had a worse hand, he would always know and bet at it.. and everytime someone was beating him, he would always be able to fold (or bluff).

After many talks, absolute poker FINALLY admitted that it had been compromsied. A consultant who had a falling out with the company used a super admin account to observe the table. He then had a remote session open toa computer in the costa rica, playing in the tournamnet. In other words he could see the cards of all the other players (live)...

An official independant report is due soon:

So important facts:

1) Never ever ever use absolute poker ever ever again. They have holes in their software, they send out FULL hand histories, they now have a history of being compromised

2) Does this hint at the fact that this could happen subtly in other games on other sites?

3) Would this put me personally off playing online?

In answer to my own points, I wouldn't touch Absolute ever again. The big poker players and sites have already dropped ALL advertisements. Unfortunately I'm personally very worried that this will effect other poker sites as well! And finally, it does put me off, but I won't stop as I don't play in games high enough that warrant cheating ;)
