PPI deadline.

Hi all can anyone pls advise. I opened a claim for PPI for deceased relative before the august deadline. The adviser on phone said to send relevant evidence which I did (after the aug deadline) she expressed on phone that as the claim was opened before the deadline it didn’t matter the documents would arrive late. After over a year I’ve just had a letter to say we missed the deadline? Can I argue and ask them to go back to their phone records?

Yes you can and should do that. You could check your call history if available so you can give them the exact date and time of the call.

Are they saying it missed the Aug 2019 deadline or that it missed an earlier timebar?  (some PPI complaints were barred earlier than last year)

Did you originally go to the lender or did you do it through a third party claims management company?

Are you the executor or administrator of the deceased's estate?

It says that the complaint was submitted too late but it wasn’t. I will call them tomorrow and ask them to check their records. We opened the complaint a week before the deadline (directly with the bank)  they received the supporting docs after. Will see what they say!

Do you know when the CMC submitted the complaint?  That may be where it failed.

That was my initial angle but from the look of their last post, it looks as though it was done direct, so could simply be either an admin error at the bank or they’ve been timebarred.
