IVA and needing to move to a new rental house
Hi me and my partner have both been in IVAs. Mine is settled last year via full and final any my partners is still active. We need to move In June out of our private rented house to another property. Are we likely to fail the checks ? We both have steady jobs and I have a pretty good Salary. We’ve never Missed a payment in 5 years at our current property . We will definitely need to get sorted as we Have two kids. Would it just be a case of guarantor which I can sort no problem or could we be in a spot of bother here

The IVAs will be on your records for 6 years from when they started. Whether that will cause a problem or not is hard to say. It's possible.0

Some landlords may have an issue, others may not. Best to be upfront with the letting agent. As someone who works for an insolvency practise I can tell you I see people moving into new private rental accommodation all the time with active IVAs2

Maybe posting on the mortgage board will generate responses from a few brokers but you will need to put a lot more info up eg how long the IVA has been in place, income, employed / self-employed, property value, outstanding mortgage amount, age etc.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
