Cheapest phone compatible with NHS Covid app

Does anyone know the cheapest available phone that is compatible with the NHS Covid track and trace app? I’ve seen some phones like the Nokia 1.3 and the Alcatel 1C which use the stripped back Android Go OS. Anyone know if the app works on phones like these, or are there any alternatives? The NHS website only list phones that are fairly pricey.

You don't need anything fancy, it just has to run Android 6 or later (Android Go is fine too) and have Bluetooth.  Most if not all Android phones have Bluetooth as I believe its a requirement of using Google apps.

I carry a tablet which has Android 8.1 and uptodate Bluetooth. Google says not compatible. Saw on line that NHS, or app developer, has said that only mobile phones as people 'dont take tablets with them during the day'!

As the app doesn't appear to be aware of the existence of walls and the ability of radio waves to travel through them, you're likely saving yourself a lot of false alerts.
