Replacing A Gas Cooker

  • Before you do anything locate your gas shut off valve next to your gas meter.
I would turn off the gas before fiddling with the bayonet connector in case something goes wrong & you have a gas leak.
Better still if you are not sure about what you are doing leave it to the professionals.

Hurrah.  Success.  I turned off the gas from the valve.  The bayonet hose pipe thing was a bit stiff but managed to get it out.

I'm glad I didn't pay AO to install the cooker.  The two guys who delivered the cooker looked and smelt like they had just finished a heavy session in a pub and then came to deliver.  Funniest part was they brought a TV in and said the paperwork suggested I had ordered a TV.  I had to show them my order twice before they brought the cooker!

I had it installed by a professional and it's all in working condition now.  Woohoo.  Thanks all for your help.
