That is not a shed at £120,000 but, if it is, it's a very expensive one!AdrianC said:As for it being "worth £1,800 at best", there is only one non-written-off 2013/14 Corsa listed for that little on Autotrader - and it's a 120k shed that even the vendor describes as "rough". Of the 1,450 cars available currently, just 20 are <£2,500. and another 60 <£3,000.0 -

I'm not sure where you stand because under normal circumstances you should be there for the inspection. If they say you couldn't be because of covid, I feel like surely they should've at the bare minimum inspected it on collection and given you a copy in a socially distanced manner before taking the car. Finance companies don't actually repair the damage but they charge for any little thing (I remember about £50 per missing hub cap when I worked for one!). I would say ask to see the report and then decide whether to pay the reduced amount or take it further. Someone else with more knowledge might be able to give better advice about the lack of report at the time of collection.

Have you asked them for evidence of damage in the form of pictures and a written report?0

They don’t compare. They said the car had bumps and dents. It didn’t. Scratches yes but nothing more than a car similar in age and mileage. They reckon they lost money at the auction and want me to pay the difference. I’ve now sent a complaint to The Ombudsman.robatwork said:

Unfortunately most finance companies expect the car back in extremely good nick - see the BVRLA guidelines. You're more or less expected to hand back a pristine car or you will get charged. I used to work in finance and found it extremely unfair so I hope you can get somewhere. I hated having to tell customers they'd have to pay up for ridiculous charges like a missing hubcap or spare wheel. I would like to hope that the fact they didn't examine the vehicle in your presence or give you a chance to dispute the charges at the time of collection will go in your favour. Hope it works out for you.Helemon67 said:
