Off work for testing and results waiting, what am I entitled to?

Options
My workplace has a Covid survey online form which we have to fill before starting to work on the day. On the Wednesdag son had Covid symptoms which I declared on the form, as a result was asked to contact the manager on duty. He then told me to stay at home, contact 111 and ask what to do.
111 operator told me to get my son tested, so I went on Gov website. There were no plaves available at the centres, so I opted for home test kit. The test was delivered on Thursday evening and sent back on Friday before 5pm, as instructed. I kept in touch with work and phoned as soon as I received results, which were negative, on the  following Tuesday.
By that time I was not placed in the weekly rota, although I offered my availability straight away  and returned to work on the week after.
Currently I am on flexi furlough, which means my wages get topped up by Gov to reach 80%. I am only work about 16hrs a week as there is not enough business at work (hospitality). This morning I discovered that instead of 80% of my pay I received only a total of 60%. My actually worked hrs were paid, but the furlough payment was very reduced.
After having asked my line manager, he said that they probably considered the testing time off as unpaid leave because test was negative possibly? He actually does not know. I have double checked all my working policies but this is no mentioned anywhere. I did assume that I would get my usual Company Sick Pay, or at least SSP which is less of course, but it would have been better than nothing.
What I am arguing is that it is the company who asked me to fill a questionnaire and stay at home, so they should pay me, or at least tell me I would not be, as I would take annual leave instead ( I would rather do that than struggle with bills).
I have contacted HR but they are very slow. Anyone that could provide me with helpful links or something? Honestly all this does not feel right to me. Thank you for reading all this and any advuce you can spare.

You are entitled to SSP while self isolating because someone you live with has COVID symptoms. Unfortunately I don't think this would apply for the days following the negative test result.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • Why did you go into work if your son was displaying covid symptoms?

I don't think the op did

My workplace has a Covid survey online form which we have to fill before starting to work on the day. On the Wednesday son had Covid symptoms which I declared on the form, as a result was asked to contact the manager on duty.

  • Thank you calcotti, very helpful. Now I will have to find out why I was not at least paid SSP.
And of course I did not go to work, if I did I would not be short of money.
  • Just another question as I am not totally cleared on what is what, and my workplace have not come back to me yet. Because I am still on furlough, should that not top up my wage anyway? As far as I know furlough scheme can still pay me up to 70% of my wage and my employer adds the 10%. Given that I worked about 20% of the hrs, so more rhan the minimum requirement, should I at least not get the 60% of furlough to reach the 80% wage? I gave my availability to come back to work on  a Wednesday, but I was only offered a shift foe the following Sunday, so about 10 days with no shifts. Given that I am supposed to be on a full-time contract, isn't my workplace responsibility for not giving me shifts or the equivalent furlough? What are the policies of sickness pay due to covid whilst on furlough? Sorry for the many questions, and thank you in advance for any answer.
And just to reiterate, I followed all the procedures and did not go to work whilst waiting for results.
