Sale of CLC timeshare

How does my sister sell her CLC timeshare?  It is paid in full and worth £15000. She is getting a divorce and wants to know what to do now.

The fact they paid £15,000 for it doesn't mean there would be a willing buyer at £15,000 - especially given the travel industry has ground to a halt and people selling holiday ownership schemes and resort destination services are not doing a roaring trade at the moment.  It's 'worth' whatever price could be agreed between her and the person that wanted to buy it.

If the development it's in is not currently locked down for Covid, I might start the bidding at £1000, on the hope I could sell it on to someone else for a few pounds more. You would never expect to get as much for it as you were willing to pay yourself when it was new and you were suckered in by all the marketing reps doing their best to give you freebies to convince you to pay the £15,000.

Does the company have a scheme where they assist timeshare owners with marketing their properties for secondary sale?

A great option for her would be to convince her other half that it is 'worth' £15,000 and then when dividing up their collective marital property, agree that he takes it and she takes more cash or pension etc.

How much are the annual fees? They can often be a liability.

If you feel you are not getting  proper responses from CLC just say you are considering referring the matter to your local MP and I am sure you will then obtain a response.Good luck !
