Why not look at the Insurance Forum, where admin fees are discussed interminably..?

Hi - Recently took out new car insurance with Hastings Direct using Money Supermarket to obtain my quote.  Hastings now claim that I told them had 7 years no claims discount when in fact I had 8 years.  They now want to charge me £34 to change this.  I can't even remember if they are correct in saying I told them I have 7 years ncd.  Despite this I believe this very unfair and exploitative.  Furthermore, if the quote was based on 7 years ncd when in fact I have 8 years ncd surely this should be taken into account??

Anyone else have this problem?  What can I do about it to avoid pay this extortionate charge?
    Wow.

That is crazy, think I would consider cancelling even if it cost me a few bob.

    How recent is recent?
If you're still within the 14 days you can canel the policy without any admin fee.

What do the T&C's say in relation to cancelling the policy early?
You have to remember it's no different then signing upto a gym for 12 months, then wanting to cancel a month later - except with car insurance you do tend to get something back.

Did you pay annually or do you pay monthly?
Pay monthly & you are taking out a loan, so as well as admin fee's you also have interest to pay.
