Wow.littleboylost said:Hi - Recently took out new car insurance with Hastings Direct using Money Supermarket to obtain my quote. Hastings now claim that I told them had 7 years no claims discount when in fact I had 8 years. They now want to charge me £34 to change this. I can't even remember if they are correct in saying I told them I have 7 years ncd. Despite this I believe this very unfair and exploitative. Furthermore, if the quote was based on 7 years ncd when in fact I have 8 years ncd surely this should be taken into account??
Anyone else have this problem? What can I do about it to avoid pay this extortionate charge?
That is crazy, think I would consider cancelling even if it cost me a few bob.0 -
How recent is recent? If you're still within the 14 days you can canel the policy without any admin fee.0

Did you pay annually or do you pay monthly?nomoreripoffbritain said:renew insurance on 10 june 24 for around £200. changed vehicle on 19 july 24. company refund me £60 odd . is it right or a total rip off. reason of leaving is company does not insurance new vehicle hence have to leave so is not even my fault to cancel is there for not allow to change vehicle policy.
Pay monthly & you are taking out a loan, so as well as admin fee's you also have interest to pay.Life in the slow lane0
