I made an online purchase over a month ago for goods over £400.The product was shipped and received and the transaction was pending for 5 days. The pending amount then went back into my account and still hasn’t been taken out one month on.
Why has this happened?

Could be a mistake, or could be their billing provider made a hiccup. It can even happen with in store purchases (I once raised an alert with my local store that I'd not been charged, the money finally came out 3 months later).
They have 6 (I think?) years with which to chase for the money, and can take it from the card at any time, so make sure you expect it.
Whether you want to call them now is your decision - I'd leave it a couple more weeks myself and then let them know.
PS. Welcome to the forumPeter

I don't know but you should contact the company and tell them this has happened otherwise you could forget and be shocked in month's or years later ehen they demand it from you.2
