PAS 232

Is anybody else finding that?
There are not many comments at all.
Given the number of posters who have said they have completed it, that is surprising and worrying. Maybe it is as @Coupon-mad puts in her standard post now, that you have to submit every individual comment and people haven't realised or, like me, they are going through it all, making their comments and will go back and submit when complete.

Are you saying someone has saved your comments so you can't add to them? Is this in the BSI one?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, I can read other people's comments AND I can review/amend mine, yes it is the BSI one. BUT I thought it was all secure and personal otherwise what is the point of logging in and having a password? It is unlikely that someone has registered with my name, e-mail address and password. I might send a query to the PAS people. There is a drop-down box where you can view comments as "All" "Public" or "Saved comments" I have sent a query to BSI.3

My standard reply tells everyone that you can see everyone else's comments (odd, isn't it):
A TASK FOR SEPTEMBER:
The Government is (this month only) consulting about a new statutory code of practice (CoP) and framework to rein in the rogue parking firms. Read and comment on the draft CoP proposal and the enforcement framework consultation, and get everyone you know to do the same.
You will need to register to comment on the CoP and enter an occupation even if you are retired or a homemaker, but otherwise it is easy to navigate, and comment upon each section/subsection individually. You can save comments to edit later and or submit comments once you are happy with them.
https://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/projects/2020-00193#/section
You do not need to register to comment on the enforcement framework which can be found here. It has a link on page 5 to make comments.

At the very least, we say the parking charge level should be £50/£25 or higher level £70/£35, as per Council PCNs in E&W.
And we say the added fake 'debt recovery' costs are just double counting the cost of letters and MUST GO. Remove that layer and you remove the ‘drivers’ behind the race to court.HOW TO DO THE SUBMISSIONS:
Responses into the PAS 232 and MHCLG framework documents are not completely straightforward:On the MHCLG response, you have to answer the questions on a 1-5 scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree, and then put some commentary. No way to upload documents or alternatives.
On the PAS 232, you have to click on each clause and sub-clause to put your comments, and a suggested rewording of their draft. You can see comments which other people have written!
But, when you click ‘submit’, a message pops up to say your comments have been received, but that only applies to the particular clause you have just addressed.
You have to click ‘submit’ separately for each individual clause response.
Some people will be caught out by this but can revisit it and add further responses up to 12 October.

OK, I hadn't read all of that in detail, as I am going to do both consultations anyway and am half way through both now. At least it's not just me but why so few comments unless it is as you say that people haven't realised they have to submit every comment separately. Poor system in my opinion!3
-
Submitted to both consultations now. It is a right pain having to go back on the PAS one, find the clause in which I commented, click to review and then submit. I hope I got them all. My advice to anyone else yet to do it would be to submit as soon as you are happy with your comment.5

Well set aside some time, it's taken me 3 hours and that's just today; I'd already done the prep at the start of September.3

I've started working through it. Part of the problem is that I've got something to say on almost every topic. Not easy to construct sufficiently pithy comments to get the point across. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I was worried that I might take up all the available number of words that is stated on the Enforcement Framework one but even with my usual voluble style, it didn't cause any issue.3
