@parkingnightmare Can you confirm that the DD's didn't get rejected due to insufficient funds ?
Be careful when you accuse someone of doing something intentionally - ask yourself why would they do that.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
@Robin9 I'm calling them out on it.
Long story, but the short of it is I owed them money years ago because they didn't bill me for electric for 3 years (only gas).
I ended up having to pay most of it back (even though there was a law about them not being able to go back that far) they suckered me into it. I set up a monthly amount I could afford, after a while they upped the amount without my consent and with no correspondence.
I now believe, after looking at many other forums and speaking to people that EDF made those multiple DD's to try and get that money back as quickly as possible. They better be able to prove it was an error, because I've had it with them.

Send them a letter headed COMPLAINT and get a Certificate of Posting. Keep it short, unemotional and realistic. Perhaps ask for £50 - £75 for expenses and compo, but be prepared to accept £25 - £30. If no luck, go to the ombudsman.
