Car book price
Hi, can anyone help me please? Is there a way of finding out the book price of a car online, without giving personal details to commercial organisations, who will doubtless bombard with offers to purchase or new cars to buy please? Even the AA wanted me to sign up to receive offers. Any advice greatly appreciated

You can enter false details on webuyanycar website.1

Parkers will do a basic free valuation online. Even better though, if your car is reasonably mainstream, search Autotrader for similar models / age / mileage to get an idea of their selling price.1

I think you mean “asking price”. It’s not the same.[Deleted User] said:Parkers will do a basic free valuation online. Even better though, if your car is reasonably mainstream, search Autotrader for similar models / age / mileage to get an idea of their selling price.1 -
If you paid for a Parkers valuation they give you 3 different "book prices" - trade in / private sales / dealership sales - even these are just an estimate and will vary when you go to other "book price" providers. There isn't one exact price for a car - just a guideline. Auto trader asking prices will be somewhere between private and dealer prices.Car_54 said:

You haven't said what the purpose of the "book price" you are after, that would help.1 -
The trouble is that the "book price" is determined by commercial organisations. It is their product, and it costs them money to produce and collate the information. Their income comes from selling that product...snaver said:Is there a way of finding out the book price of a car online, without giving personal details to commercial organisations
Some of them allow a free one-off, but - yes - the price of that "free" is your information.
