Compositions door what are my rights

Two years ago we had composite doors fitted back and front. Right from the start they were very hard to open, the guy came out and adjusted it, but it was still hard to close and open.
We have asked them back but the virus hit, they kept promising to contact us but nothing.
I have to ask my husband to let me out and back in (either door, both are to hard for me).
I noticed that the screw on the frame of the back door was digging in to the door, one of the reasons it was so hard to use.
I know these doors have a reputation for sticking but at 54 I should be able to open and close the door by myself!
How/what can I do to get the company to take this seriously.

  • You tell them to sort it once and for all, or else you'll get someone else to do so and sue them for the cost - and you will win.

Give them a fair time to sort it - a couple of weeks? This needs to be said in a provable way - letter, acknowledged email, witness, whatevs.

Also persuasive is on-line reviews, Facebook etc. You are completely entitled to leave honest, accurate feedback - and let them know you'll do so.

theres a certain technique to opening a composite door. what you need to do is:
get a run up, not massively, but you need to be moving as a fast walking pace
as you approach the door grasp the handle and open it
whilst simultaneously dropping your dominant shoulder and barging it through the door

    simple!
  • Alternatively, bump into it with a plastic Tesco home delivery crate and I hear the whole thing will split and fall down. At least, that’s what someone else in here said.
