HELP! COMPLETELY CONFUSED BY AUTOSWITCH!

Hallo, I wonder if you can help me. Please have patience if I'm being thick - I have a long term disability and am in a lot of pain etc which affects how clearly I can think so I may not be being sharp on this.
I am on separate suppliers for gas and electricity - I'm renting and am just on the suppliers I inherited.
I'd like to use the new MSE autoswitch tool, and filled out all the details as much as I could, but was confused by the result. Apparently I could save, but the result only showed one supplier, rather than one for gas and one for electricity. Does that mean there was only one utility they thought could be cheaper? Also, I am not on separate suppliers because I particularly want to be - I'd happily be on one supplier for gas and electricity if that would be cheaper. Also, I tried to work out how much my usage is in kWh by looking at previous bills, but it's a bit hard to figure out as I haven't been here a year yet so the colder months are shown, plus my usage seems very variable.
I'd be really grateful if someone could help me understand this.

No need to use Autoswitch, Look After My Bills, Bill Buddy or anything else. You are clearly computer literate so you'll be OK doing it all yourself, it's likely to be cheaper and you'll have a better understanding of what's going on. Just make sure you always send monthly meter readings and keep your own records of them. You could start by getting quotations for 12,000kWh of gas and 2,900kWh of electricity. If necessary, tweak it a bit depending on the size of the property, number of occupants, insulation, daytime occupancy, cool / tropical preference etc. Start with the Citizens Advice and 'Switch with Which?' comparison sites. Ignore all projections and savings claims, they're usually a mirage because of Ofgem's daft formula. Just compare the total annual cost for the kWh (NOT monthly DD amounts), and see whether separate suppliers are cheaper, they probably will be. Remember that some bargain tariffs are exclusive to comparison sites and won't show up on the suppliers own sites. Finally, look at the satisfaction ratings on Citizens Advice and in the threads on this forum. Symbio and Tonik are best avoided, as are Trustpilot reviews. If you're nervous you could choose tariffs that are variable or don't have exit fees (there are a few) until you have a better idea of your usage.1
