Ryanair - change fee but not for my booking in Oct

I booked flights to Lanzarote back in May when the restrictions were lifted for travel, now with the FCO warning against travel again, the second wave and the need to self isolate for 14 days on return, I am now reluctant to go.
I would be happy to move my flights, but Ryanair's change fee is half the price of what I paid.
Now Ryanair are getting rid of their change fee for flights in Oct, but only those booked from 15th Sept. This seems a bit unfair???
They are stickler's for rules and I can see it being unlikely I will get any sort of compensation, is there anything I can do

does your travel insurance cover you?
booking to travel during a global pandemic was always going to be a risk, would have been better choosing an airline that offered a guarantee or offered refundable tickets1 -

Bad move on my part I guess, just seems unfair that they won't extend the no change fee to all bookings0 -

In the same boat. Rang them today to try and move Oct half term flights to next summer. Was told not a problem and there would be a £35 pp charge. There is also a charge to change the one suitcase we were taking. Total cost £165 each way. I never bother with travel insurance so will probably take the £490 loss and stay in the UK again next year. To think i bought the return flight on 1st April thinking things would be back to normal by then0

Oh no me too - taking a £380 loss as the flight change plus priority/suitcase is £300 anyway. Travel insurance won't pay, as despite booking it with Ryanair vouchers from our original booking back in January, it still counts as being booked after March.0
