Halifax valuation desktop/physical valuation criteria?

Purely out of curiosity, does anyone know if there are set criteria that determine if Halifax do a desktop or physical house valuation? We have just submitted our application (existing customers porting & increasing amount for new property) 75% LTV, just wondered if anyone knows if there is a set criteria or if it is more of a case by case basis. Interested in hearing the experiences of others too.
Thank you

Thanks for replying.
I wonder which we will get? Hopefully it wont make a difference either way. I'm expecting a physical valuation, not many similar houses have sold in the area, lots of 3 beds, the 4 beds rarely sell so not much to compare with. Time will tell.0 -
I had a desktop valuation and there wasn’t much to compare to in the area. The valuation came back fine even though I had to offer more than the asking price.I’m having a full structural survey next week with valuation and rebuild cost next week. So we will see then.1
