Seller hasn't arranged a collection for an accidentally sent parcel?

I purchased a Nintendo Wii from a seller before lockdown. They dropped it off at a collection point inside Currys just before lockdown, but the store was closed before it was able to be collected and so it was stuck there for months before restrictions were lifted. The seller was kind enough to refund me and I bought another one from elsewhere.
Fastforward to after lockdown... the original Wii turns up at my house (mid June). I messaged the seller on eBay to arrange a return, they said they would sort it and asked me to weigh the package. I didn't hear anything else. Since then I have messaged the seller three separate times to try to get them to arrange a return. each time they say 'yes, thanks' or something very vague then nothing. I'm moving house next week and would really like it out of the way and to not have to take it. I'd like to just take it to the charity shop as I've had it here for 3 months... but I'm not sure where I stand on this? Can anyone help?

Its not your to give away so part that idea. If its that desperate why not return it and ask them to send you the money by return?1

I completely disagree , if seller wants it back then they need to pay in advance for the return. Why post somehting back to a seller who is no longer responding to messages?ssparks2003 said:Its not your to give away so part that idea. OP you will need to hold on to it a bit longer, but I agree with the idea of giving seller a date, make it a reasonable one, to arrange for return.

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. I don’t want to give away something that’s theirs but at the same time they don’t seem to want to get it back! I would post and ask for return money but it’s a bulky parcel over 2kg so wouldn’t be at all cheap to return - what if they don’t reimburse?ssparks2003 said:Its not your to give away so part that idea. It’s a good idea to give them a deadline, thanks! I wonder where I’d be at from a legal standpoint though, if the seller decides in another 3 months that they’re unhappy I did this?Mickey666 said:Give the seller a deadline to reclaim it and tell them that after that deadline you will dispose of it.Or, package it up, address it clearly to the seller and take it back to the Curry's collection point where you got it from.Sorry, I’m confusing you, the Curry’s was on their end, this was dropped off at my house.0 -

Yes, it’ll be a fairly expensive return and I don’t like the idea of it not being reimbursed! Thanks for the advice to give them a date. I think that’s what I’ll do!0 -
The statute of limitations is 6 years. PITA though it is, pack it up and take it with you if you can't get an answer/returns label from the seller.0
