Separate suppliers, how does it work?

Options
Had a good look around the thread and I've seen a few on here advocating the potential cost/savings benefits of having separate suppliers but it's like 'needle in a haystack' theory trying to find exact answer/s to my query (I'm sure they are there lol). Just wanted to know how this all works regarding switching. I'm not new to switching, currently with Avro (Simple and Superfixed) where the deal ends 21/02/21. Avro seem to be on the upward trend with their prices so switch looks inevitable. Do I initiate the switch to separate suppliers in the same way as a 'dual fuel' switch? Is there anything to be careful of OR anything to avoid say schoolboy error with this type of switch. Would Avro see it's separate switch? would they even care?

Any help from those that have done this or a currently using separate suppliers will be much appreciated, Neon reef & Zog looking favourite at the moment although this of course could change by Jan/Feb next year.

It's straghtforward - just use a comparison site like Citizens Advice or Which? for your gas and select your supplier and initiate the switch; repeat for electric.

Avro won't care - win some, loose some.

I have Zog and Green Network Energy.

You just initiate two switches instead of one.  Nothing else is different except that you'll be getting two sets of "goodbye"/"welcome" emails.  Oh and you'll be saving money!!

    Likewise Zog and GNE .
But who knows what the best will be in the future .
  • Fantastic  I'm familiar with Citizens advice energy comparison (more choice than CEC) so no problems there. If or more likely when I start the switches if I do them both on the same day I would assume my DD's would be similar dates, I accept that of course all depends on how fast my new suppliers deal with things but is my thinking correct? not that it will make much difference having DD's coming out on different dates just trying to suss everything out and avoid any mistakes.

Your DD's could well be different dates and the first DD's may well be taken before the switch is complete
