You have your sleep Gers. I know we would all like to lose a little weight, but having your mouth sewn up seems a little extreme.
TA, I know what you mean about being afraid of not wanting to go out again. I would quite happily be a recluse, though only if I can keep my phone. I love long gossipy chats with my friends, I don't actually have to see them to be happy.
Nelski. A new mop? Oh be still my beating heart! A present from a friend? Truly life doth not hold anything more fair. Takes me back to the good old days when a 21st birthday was second only to a wedding day in importance. My friend's brother told his parents that he wanted a part for his motor bike as their gift. His mother retorted crossly that under no circumstances was she going to have to tell people that she had given her son a big end for his 21st, she would never live down the shame.
You'd better keep very quiet about your mop.
Yesterday I surpassed mysel on the housekeeping front. Not only did I do the washing, or rather the machine did, and got it dried and ironed, but I waved the fluffy thing on the stick around and vacuumed the bits of carpet that showed. Get me!
Today I deserve a rest. And a rest I will have. Just as soon as I get up.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Do you remember, before the internet, that it was thought that the cause of collective stupidity was the lack of access to information?
Well. It wasn't that.I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.15 -
monna i love that thought !9

Stop press!
AOD you poor thing. Next time you dream that you are making lumpy pastry, just dream that you are making it with a marble rolling pin. Those things weigh a ton and lumps in pastry don't stand a snowball's chance in hell.
I know about these things.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all
Its been raining for a few hours stopped now briefly but more due later and tomorrow any washing done will have to go on the airer or in the td today.
DD is now back to working from home it was daft them getting her in really as her job can easily be done from home she went back to the office for a week and a day before they told her to work from home again, part of her job entails going into schools and meeting with children though so we are both a bit wary or that but I think they will stop that soon tbh.
Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice its already made and in the freezer so I will get that out in a while, I will have to make dd a veggie one but that wont take long.
Thanks for all the good wishes re my job, I am hopeful it will all work out somehow !!
Right need another cuppa, have good days all xx11 -

Morning all! Dull, drizzly and grey today. I thought it was early when I woke up, it wasn't, it was just quite dark...I went to the tip yesterday to get rid of a few things and was again impressed by the system now. I hope they keep it as it is. They've made spaces between the cars now with yellow paint so there's at least half a meter between cars when before it was marked out like a car park, it was clean, there was no queue it was just lovely, if you can say that about a tip visit. I booked it on Monday and lo and behold there was one spot left for yesterday otherwise it would have been a week to wait. Then I travelled to a nearby-ish town to get some paint, this shop appeared to be the only stockist, but when I got there, it was shut. Out with the trusty phone over coffee and cake in a pub back garden [ had to scan a QR code for track and trace and download the app for the pub and order and pay on it for table service] I found one in my town. Phoned them up to be told where they usually sell from is shut due to a refurb but they are selling from home and their address is, if I want to pop round, is in the NEXT STREET TO ME! ::sigh:: So I have paint now....and when I got back OH has finished digging the holes so we stuck various buckets in them to avoid anything or anyone, namely me, from falling in them, and moved the wood onto the worktable and my [finally finished!] table which is sturdy enough for an elephant to tapdance on it and covered it with tarp. I am very chuffed with my first bit of proper DIY...and also very impressed with the jig that cuts the pocket holes. I'm also pleased we covered it yesterday because it wasn't supposed to be raining till today but it hammered down yesterday evening/night.So today I am rationalising the freezers to find room for some flour, making bread and deciding on a cake and a pasta al forno dish to bake for the weekend...And looking for joist hangers and roofing...Gers, ouch, and I fear you may be expecting too much too soon...Hope the pain is kept at bay! TA, ah...you seem to have caught my clumsy, you can give it back if you like, I'm used to it
Nelski, oo, skip, magic word! Nice prawns! AOD, that sounds rubbish too, I hate the ones that linger on afterwards so you feel the same as you did in the dream...dumpling, you seem to be running through cycles emotionally speaking. I was wondering if anyone you deal with has offered any help on how you can interrupt it or bend it it to change it...Monna, like the thought! Off for breakfast now - raisin and cinnamon bagels - yes I know it's quite late, but hey to all readers along, stay dry, stay sane, stay frosty! Whimpering Wednesday!

Grrr, I told Steve to ring the surgery to book his flu jab and he got a jobsworth receptionist who told him that because he was under 65, no matter what he had to wait. I made him ring them back and quote the NHS website about vulnerable people over 50 needing to get it asap. She did give him an appointment but not until October 21st. I also qualify because I live with a vulnerable person but she didn't know about that either so I have to wait till she checks with someone. I'm not particularly bothered about myself but I'm cross about Steve.12

Gers, hope you are doing ok and not too much pain.
Monna, I am not sure if it was the actual pastry at fault or the fact that I was rolling it on the ironing board. My pastry is a bit various, sometimes it is really good, other times it can be mediocre but I actually don't make it on the ironing board.
Garden eagerly slurping up rain now.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back9 -
Rainy here Chez Nous... indoors for afternoon tea and virtual cake. Will have to get my sewing machine out to make some baby dresses for the 5week old grandaughter. I'll enjoy that.Tomatoes are doing nicely and mostly ripening on the vine (cherry tomatoes). No apples this year, so may have to go scrumping. On line booking at the doctors for two three sorts of injections B12, flu, shingles... resulted in... bleurgh... so will visit the surgery in person to make the appointment. As the evenings are drawing in "the equinox" I will start sewing up the knitted squares for a blanket made whilst on my holidays.9

Afternoon everyone
I have been reading along, Not really accomplishing a lot though.Update on my ds2, he has moved into a flatshare nearby for now. I am aiming to try and get a shared ownership property hopefully by the end of this year.I have told my other half exactly how he has made me feel and how much damage he has caused to our marriage and me. He is currently making an effort but will see how long this lasts.
been out for a bike ride today - although I do wish I had got a e-bike for the hills. Managed 6 miles today, not bad considering I haven’t done anything for ages.I am now travelling back on the underground to work since the congestion charge has been brought back in and extended. It has been fairly busy at peak times with some people removing their masks on the trains etc.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care9
